i had so many stationery things i had to make a blog to organize them

  • I got my PLOTTER!

If you’re wondering why I type PLOTTER in all caps, it’s because if I can respect the lowercase stylization of folklore (2020) and evermore (2020), I can respect PLOTTER’s capitalization, too.

This isn’t a really thorough review because I am too smitten with this notebook to give it anything but five out of five stars. I ended up setting it up a lot differently than I planned in my first post.

I am going to preface these photos by saying that I am not one of the stationery enthusiasts blessed with good handwriting and artistic ability. I took these photos on my iPhone, so they’re not perfect quality. I subscribe to r/basicbulletjournals, not r/bulletjournal. (There’s nothing wrong with r/bulletjournal. I lurk there frequently. I am just not artistically inclined enough to design those spreads, so I benefit more from seeing the basic layouts. Bullet journalers of the world, I admire you.)

Everything in this notebook is written with a Pilot Vanishing Point (fine nib) inked with Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun, which is in the pen holder insert, if you’re curious.

My messy personal to-do list and a few sheets of plain card-size PLOTTER insert I plan to use for quick notes to move around the notebook.
The Filofax 2024 monthly insert fits! I got this because I couldn’t find the PLOTTER brand monthly insert. I cut the corners off with a paper punch I found on Amazon for $5.99. The alignment is perfect with the PLOTTER brand pages.
My very basic weekly spread done with the Japan Blue project PLOTTER pages. These are 2 mm grids divided into quadrants.
One of my PLOTTER project planner inserts! This one is for my school practicum. It has a PLOTTER brand to-do list at the front, followed by five 2 mm grid pages behind for notes on the go. I was so excited about it that I showed my preceptor during our meeting yesterday.

    BINDER QUALITY: 5/5

The leather and the rings feel sturdy. This was expensive, but it feels like it will last a long time.

    PAPER QUALITY: 5/5

I tried a bunch of different fountain pens and nib widths on this paper (not pictured), and nothing bled through. The ghosting is minimal. I didn’t have trouble with hand oils making

    ACCESSORY QUALITY: 5/5

I like the project planner inserts most. I’m using three right now: one for work, one for my school practicum, and one for therapy. I like to doodle during therapy and frequently make notes throughout the week to bring back to my therapist for our next session.

The ruler insert has a variety of different units available (including angles), which impresses me.

The pen insert has cursive writing samples if you want to practice or trace those. The pen holder easily fits a Pilot Vanishing Point, which is not a small pen.

    ORIGINALITY: 5/5

I’ve never seen a system like this. I’ve been sending my friend videos of me flipping through my PLOTTER every time I add or adjust a function. I love it.

    OVERALL RATING: 5/5

I am definitely going to get a PLOTTER Mini 5 to use as a wallet and everyday pocket carry with my Traveler’s brass fountain pen.

    Until next time,

  • First post!

Hi everyone! Yesterday was my 32nd birthday. I am recovering from a major surgery I had less than two weeks ago, plus I tested positive for flu A a few days ago, so I couldn’t go out to celebrate. I spent the whole day watching planner and stationery videos with my wife. She worked really hard to make the day special even though I couldn’t do much. It was one of my best birthdays ever. Thanks, Daniele. I love you.

I decided to register this domain today to deal with my own impatience. I have been waiting impatiently for my bible sized PLOTTER binder to arrive. I already have all the inserts I picked, but the binder won’t be here until tomorrow. I can’t wait!

Here is how I am planning to set it up:

    1. One sheet from the to-do list insert
    2. August 2024-December 2024 monthly inserts that I have to hand make because I can’t find the premade PLOTTER one in stock anywhere
    3. Four weeks from the weekly schedule refill
    4. A project planner insert with 15 (or 16 if a month is 31 days) pages of 2 mm grid paper for daily pages
    5. A project planner insert with 1 page from the to-do list insert and 10 pages of 2 mm grid paper for work notes

When I finish the entire to-do list page, I’ll replace it. When a month is over, I’ll take that monthly spread out and archive it in the refill storage. When a week is over, I’ll take out that weekly spread and insert a fourth week. When I’ve finished a month’s worth of daily pages, I’ll take them out and archive them. The work to-do list and notes will come out when they are no longer useful.

I used a lot of links up there! I am not an affiliate or getting any kind of compensation for that. I just like being able to find products I see in blog posts so I can check them out myself.

I’m sure I’ll post again with pictures once I set up my PLOTTER tomorrow. Until then, write on!
